Taste of Melbourne operates on its own currency called Crowns. Crowns are required to purchase signature dishes from the restaurants, drinks from bars and products from exhibitors. New for 2013, Taste of Melbourne will introduce electronic Crown Cards, making it even easier to purchase your favourite tasting dishes. Purchase your Crown Card in advance through Ticketek, or at one of the many Crown Banks throughout the venue.

Come prepared to sip, sample and shop with a Silver Crown or VIP ticket, which both contain a $30 Crown Card, or enjoy the ultimate tasting experience with a Gold Crown ticket, which includes entry to the event plus a $50 Crown card.
Restaurant dishes are priced between 6 – 12 Crowns. Servings are tapas style portions – the perfect size to allow you to create your ultimate tasting menu from the amazing array of restaurants on offer.
Taste of Melbourne is located in Pelican Lawn, Albert Park. The festival is located right beside the Carousel off Aughtie Drive.
Limited parking is available throughout the park. Time restrictions and parking fees apply.

Taste of Melbourne operates like a restaurant with a lunch and dinner service. A Taste Session lasts for 4-5 hours (session dependent) to give you time to enjoy your pick of restaurant dishes, browse the artisan stalls and enjoy some of the many attractions including the Taste Kitchen, Dilmah Chef’s Skillery, or brand new Lurpak Cookery School. Tickets are sold for each session and are only valid for the time and date indicated on the ticket.

How do I get to Pelican Lawn, Albert Park?
It is easy to get to Taste of Melbourne by public transport, car, bike or foot. We advise you to plan your journey in advance using Journey Planner.
Where do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be bought via Ticketek (132 849) in advance or at the Box Office on the day. Silver and Gold Crown tickets are only available to purchase in advance.
What are the event opening times?
Taste of Melbourne takes place in 6 sessions across 4 days (14-17 November 2013). Please refer to ‘Opening Times’ above for session times.
What are Crowns?
Crowns are the official currency of Taste of Melbourne $1 = 1 Crown.
Does everyone accept Crowns?
Crowns are used to buy food and drinks from all restaurants, exhibitors and bars. Crowns can be purchased in advance via Ticketek or from any of the Crown Banks or roving Crown sellers onsite. Cash can be used to buy produce for off-site consumption from exhibitors.
Will I be able to exchange any spare Crowns at the end of the event?
Crowns are non-refundable, so make sure you spend every last one – stock up your pantry with products from exhibitors or purchase a bottle of your favourite wine to take home with you.
How much are each of the dishes at the restaurants?
The average dish at Taste of Melbourne is 6-12 Crowns. Restaurant’s ‘Icon Dishes’ may be priced between 15-25 Crowns.
Will there be ATM facilities on site?
No. Although all Crown banks and roaming crown sellers take eftpos/credit card.
Will the event be affected by unfortunate weather circumstances?
Unless advised by the local authority, the event will go ahead despite any weather circumstances. So hail, rain or shine, Taste will thrive no matter what!
As this is an outdoor festival, please wear appropriate footwear as weather conditions may vary throughout.
Should the weather turn for the worst, there are many covered marquee areas at the show. Wet weather ponchos will be readily available and free at the event should the weather turn very bad.
Brand Events Australia reserve the right to cancel or change event dates, time, line up and venue as required. Tickets purchased to the festival are non-refundable. Alternative dates and times may be issued to ticket holders at the discretion and decision of the organisers
Do children under 5 require a ticket to attend?
No, but proof of identification may be required.
Are there any age limits?
No! Everyone and anyone is welcome.
Can I bring my own food and/or drink?
No food will be permitted into the site premises. Only bottled water will be allowed.
Is smoking permitted on site?
There is no smoking onsite at Taste of Melbourne, it is a smoke-free venue.
Is the site wheelchair friendly?
Yes it is.
Are pets allowed?
Only guide dogs will be permitted on site. No pets allowed.
