Darren Purchese is the owner / pastry chef of the hugely successful ‘Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio’ in South Yarra,  Melbourne. His Sweet Studio has quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most original and innovative dessert outposts in Australia.

Originally from the UK, Darren gained a wealth of experience from working in some of the finest kitchen around the world and most recently Australia, which he now calls home. Opening his first business in 2011, Sweet Studio is best described as a laboratory for delectable desserts, focusing on new and unique dessert combinations that fuse science with sweetness, his celebration cakes and custom creations are much sought after.

Darren is a regular presenter at food seminars worldwide and is a familiar face on our TV screens most notably on Masterchef Australia.

His first cookbook, ‘Sweet Studio – The Art of Divine Desserts’ was published in October 2012 and is available from Murdoch Books.
